A typical CLANG! program consists of:
  • An opening song and welcome
  • Explanation of how musicians interact with each other, especially the importance of listening to one another
  • Introduction of found and homemade percussion items, and how anyone can make music out of just about anything
  • We improvise songs and bring kids up to improvise with us
  • We then talk about real percussion instruments and perform short improvisation pieces. Typically we discuss Steel Pan drums, Cajon drums, Djembe drums,Talking drums and more unusual percussion from around the world
  • This is followed by a kids jam including one of us orchestrating the group
  • Finally, we wrap it up with a question and answer period

Kids love this program because they're learning
while having tons of fun with us.

And we're tons of fun!
